"Big Bend Judge Blocks Border Wall Construction in Texas"
The ruling dealt a setback to the Trump administration’s plans for hundreds of miles of barriers that have drawn local opposition. The judge said the federal government could not rely on waivers of environmental and other laws it had granted itself to speed up the construction, writing that it “must comply with all applicable laws.”

"Mesa County Commissioners approve data center moratorium"
On September 14th, the Grand Junction City Council proposed a temporary one-year moratorium on applications for data centers. Then, Mesa County joined it. At Tuesday’s Mesa County Commissioners meeting, the board voted unanimously to impose a one-year moratorium on data center applications for unincorporated Mesa County, and as of September 29th, the moratorium is in effect.

"Supreme Court rejects GOP-backed Missouri map, preserving key seat for Democrats"
Because the Court ruled that the redistricting was subject to voter approval through a petition process—which will not be decided until November 3—the old map from 2024 will be used for the November midterm elections. This ruling preserves a key seat for Democrats and provides a small boost in their efforts to retake control of the House of Representatives.

The Constitution gives authority over elections to the states and Congress, not the president. The ruling affirms that American citizens can vote by mail with confidence and without interference by the Postal Service.
