FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Where can I go to obtain free or low-cost birth control?
You can access affordable or free birth control through organizations like Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains and Western Colorado Health Network. They offer a range of contraception options and can help you find a method that fits your needs. Some local clinics also provide services on a sliding scale—contact them directly or check.
Where can I get accurate information about abortion?
For medically accurate, non-judgmental information about abortion, Planned Parenthood, Colorado Doula Project, and COBALT are trusted resources. They offer guidance on care options, legal rights, emotional support, and financial assistance in Colorado. Avoid crisis pregnancy centers, which often spread misinformation.
What is harm reduction and how does it impact me?
Harm reduction is a public health approach focused on minimizing the negative effects of drug use, sexual activity, and other behaviors without judgment. It includes things like access to clean syringes, naloxone, STI testing, and safe sex education. Harm reduction benefits everyone by promoting safety, dignity, and community health. Reach out to Western Colorado Health Network for local programs.
How can I get information about my voter registration status?
Visit www.govotecolorado.gov to check your registration, update your address, or register to vote. It’s fast, easy, and essential for making your voice heard in local and statewide elections.
Where can I find guidance for talking to my child about sex?
Open, honest conversations about sex and relationships are important. Planned Parenthood offers age-appropriate tools and resources for parents and caregivers to help guide these discussions. Visit their parenting resources page to get started.

Start by joining one of our Mesa County Women’s Group teams! We work directly with groups like Mutual Aid Partners, Planned Parenthood, Colorado Doula Project, and Western Colorado Health Network.
