“Government in a free democracy is us—ALL of us. It reflects the goals and values of those who participate—and the absence of those who don’t.”
— Morgan Carroll, former Colorado Democratic Party Chair
Grassroots Leadership Starts Here.
Become a Precinct Organizer
Precincts are the heart of grassroots democracy. As a Precinct Organizer (PO), your “district” is your neighborhood. Your role is simple but powerful: connect with your neighbors, share resources, answer questions, and make sure they’re engaged—especially when it comes to voting.
How It Works
Mesa County has 67 precincts organized into seven districts. Each precinct elects or appoints a Precinct Organizer at caucus, who then becomes part of our Central Committee to help shape the direction of the Mesa County Democrats. District Precinct Organizers (DPOs) support groups of precincts and also serve on the Executive Committee, ensuring strong connections from neighborhood to county leadership.

What You’ll Do
As a Precinct Organizer, you’ll reach out to your Democratic neighbors, share information on candidates, issues, and elections, encourage voter participation, and take part in caucuses to help shape the party platform—all while building community as the friendly, local face of the Mesa County Democrats.
