The Colorado Democratic Party has officially endorsed Propositions LL and MM, two important measures on the November 4 ballot that will directly fund the “Healthy School Meals for All” program supporting K–12 students statewide.
What Proposition LL Does
Proposition LL asks voters to approve keeping $12.4 million already collected for the Healthy School Meals for All program instead of returning it in TABOR refunds to households earning more than $300,000 per year (adjusted gross income).
What Proposition MM Does
Proposition MM creates an estimated $95 million in permanent annual funding for the program by lowering state income tax deduction limits on households making more than $300,000 per year (AGI).
Why It Matters
According to Feeding America’s 2022 statistics, 1 in 7 Colorado schoolchildren struggles with hunger. Propositions LL and MM ensure that students have reliable access to nutritious meals, which are proven to support academic success, health, and overall well-being.
